Putten, September 24, 2026. Rappit and the Ministry of Defence have signed a covenant to support employees who combine their careers at Rappit with a role as a reservist. The partnership reflects Rappit’s commitment to good employment practices and its responsibility to contribute to a resilient and secure society.
In a changing security environment, safety can no longer be taken for granted. With the signing of the covenant, Rappit and the Ministry of Defence are committing to a sustainable partnership that helps strengthen the availability and readiness of reservists when they are needed.
“As an organization, we have a responsibility that goes beyond our own business operations. Contributing to a resilient society is part of that responsibility. Reservists contribute to the security of the Netherlands while bringing valuable knowledge, skills and experience back to our organization. By supporting them, we give concrete meaning to our commitment to corporate social responsibility while also strengthening our own organization,” says Ardjan Baan, CEO of Rappit.

Supporting employees who serve as reservists
Reservists play an important role in the Dutch armed forces. Alongside their regular jobs, they contribute their time, expertise and commitment to the security of the Netherlands.
Through the covenant, Rappit actively supports employees who combine their work with their role as a reservist. This includes special leave for reservist training as well as active deployment, enabling employees to fulfil their responsibilities in the armed forces without having to choose between their military commitment and their career at Rappit.
One of Rappit’s employees, who serves as a reservist, explains what the partnership means in practice: “Being a reservist allows me to use my knowledge and experience in a different but very meaningful way, and to contribute to the security of the Netherlands. At the same time, working alongside other reservists and highly skilled professionals from outside Rappit brings new knowledge, perspectives and learnings that I can also take back into my work. I’m grateful to Rappit for giving me the space and support to combine my role as a reservist with my work. It means a lot to know that my employer values this contribution and actively supports me in fulfilling both roles,” says a reservist of Rappit.
To embed this commitment within the organization, Rappit has also introduced an official Reservist Policy. This provides a clear framework for supporting colleagues who serve as rjeservists and ensures that their contribution is recognized and facilitated within the organization.
“This policy gives our employees the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally. Serving as a reservist contributes to vitality, resilience and the development of skills such as leadership, collaboration and the ability to respond to different situations. In doing so, employees not only strengthen their own resilience, but also bring that experience back into our organization. Supporting reservists is fully aligned with who we are as a Great Place To Work-Certified organization: a workplace where people can develop, take responsibility and make a meaningful contribution to society,” says Shirley Muller, HR Director of Rappit.
