Next generation project planning solution at enterprise scale
Global automotive supplier, partner to all automakers and new mobility players, Valeo was reliant on a legacy project planning solution, serving 3,000 employees. Rappit swiftly developed a Google Cloud-based solution with new functionality leveraging Rappit Developer high productivity coding. The new SaaS solution allows for a seamless migration, resulting in an ROI in 1 year and better collaboration amongst teams.
Their challenges
- A key application: Valeo has been using a standard of the shelf” project planning solution for +10 years for its project planning processes. The solution handles around +8,000 projects globally and has 3,000 users.
- Productivity of R&D teams impacted: due to lack of collaboration features. R&D is key for Valeo, which spends 2.6 billion euros in 2023 on R&D and is the leading French patent filer in the world.
- Cumbersome to manage: Local installations needed on each laptop.
- Step change needed: The solution would need to scale for 5,000 users and for projects that will handle up to 2,000-4,000 tasks in single project. While creating and editing plannings within < 3 seconds. The application would also need to integrate with other Valeo internal apps and be easy to use with an intuitive user interface.
- Evaluating SaaS alternatives and a build solution with performance and functionality beyond the existing project planning solution.
